Newhard Productions - Going Hard in 2011

Hello all,

To those who missed last week's screening of Bummer Summer, Zach Weintraub's awesome feature film debut, you indeed missed out, not only because the film is great, but also because of the trailers shown before the film - 2 new Newhard Productions jams. (also, if you know anybody or are somebody that live in Seattle, go see the movie while its there this week!)

The first trailer was for Nandan Rao's feature "The Men of Dodge City". Dodge City? Like Dodge City, Kansas? Well, no. I don't think so anyways. The film, shot in Detroit, looks to be an interesting story about a group of people who do what many have talked about doing and few are actually doing: Going into places like Detroit (where the film was shot) and creating a community or work environment in the wreckage of former prosperous locations.

The second trailer was for Weintraub's follow-up feature, recently (as in wrapped less than 2 weeks ago) shot film in Buenos aires, called "The International Sign for Choking". One major thread in all 3 movies is Zach as a performer, which is a good thing. This also looked great!

Both trailers were little on revealing the overall stories of the films and big on atmosphere and showing small snippets of scenes that let you sort of piece together what you might think the movie is about. These filmmakers have a confidence that is strong beyond their years.

Both films feature Zach and actress Sophia Takal. Both films look to have the same interesting pace, humor and curiosity found in Bummer Summer. Here is my Popcorn Prophecy: Two New Hard-Hitting Jaaaaaaams
